Underwhelmed is an understatement. I see Franklin as a downgrade from Padilla, and quite possibly from Tejeda. If this is the best Gillick can do, then 2006 is pretty clearly a year of retrenching while we play out the string on the Bell, Lieberthal, Wolf, and Cormier contracts.
Well, at least they got somebody, but he seems like just a cheaper version of Weaver - an uninspiring innings-eater with not as good of stuff. I also don't like the steroid test result, one more and he's gone as long as Wolf with the new policy. So does this mean Madson handles the 8th again, or are they willing to just try everyone out for it and see what sticks?
shame on you all for not being happy about cory lidle's elevation to the no. 3 spot. he eats innings. he prepares for teams. he throws in exfess of 87 mph. he recently held a charity hold 'em tournament. he deserves better treatment than this!
